What we see clinically

Monument Hill chain-reaction pileups produce compound cervical + thoracic + concussion injury; Powers rear-ends trend higher-energy

When to go to the ER first: Persistent severe headache after the crash, repeated vomiting, confusion or seizure activity, saddle-area numbness, or loss of bladder control — head to the ER immediately

Common questions

Does altitude affect whiplash recovery?
Mildly. Reduced oxygen saturation at Springs elevation can slow inflammatory resolution compared to sea-level recovery, and headache patterns are often more persistent. We adjust the recovery timeline in our treatment plan to account for this; most Springs whiplash cases still resolve within the usual WAD I-II window.
My crash happened in a weather pileup on Monument Hill. Does that change the treatment plan?
Yes. Chain-reaction pileups at highway speed create compound injury patterns — cervical with thoracic, often with concussion. Dr. Wallace prioritizes neurological evaluation and imaging triage earlier in the timeline than a typical intersection case would warrant.
What is Synergy Manual Therapy and why does it matter?
Synergy is the physical therapy practice co-located in our building. Our physical therapists and their staff share space, which means no drive between appointments, seamless handoff on same-day evaluations, and one continuous record across exam and therapy sessions. Particularly useful for cases that need PT three times a week.

If a crash on I-25 between Monument and downtown — or anywhere in the Powers corridor — has your neck and shoulders stiff, our Telstar Drive clinic is set up for same-week intake. Dr. Wallace handles the physician exam, Synergy Manual Therapy takes over for PT without you leaving the building, and imaging gets coordinated through regional partners when clinically indicated.
